Researcher | Educator | Advocate
I am a health behavior scholar with expertise in multimethod and intersectional research design and a commitment to critical public health, feminist inquiry, and digital health equity. As a first-generation academic and Ph.D. candidate in Health Behavior at Indiana University Bloomington, my dissertation examines how social media shapes care and management for minoritized women with chronic health issues, particularly Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). More broadly, my research explores how chronic illness, reproductive health, and digital platforms expose structural inequities while also creating possibilities for resilience. This work has led to publications in Archives of Sexual Behavior, Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, and Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters, with several manuscripts in preparation.
My research has been recognized through awards and fellowships, including the Irsay Institute Graduate Fellowship, the Santosh Jain Endowed Memorial Fellowship, the Mohammad R. Torabi Scholarship, and the Joyce C. Arthur Fellowship. As an educator, I bring over a decade of experience designing and teaching undergraduate courses in the United States and Bangladesh, including Human Sexuality, Personal Health, and Community Development across in-person, synchronous online, and asynchronous formats.
Beyond research and teaching, I have held leadership and service roles at institutional, community, and national levels, including Treasurer-Elect of the APHA Student Assembly, Co-Chair of the APHA Action Grant Committee, President of the Bangladesh Student Association at IU, Student Representative for IU’s Strategic Planning Commission 2030, and mentor for undergraduate researchers through IU’s STEM Summer Institute. I also provide volunteer guidance to international students pursuing higher education in the United States. Across these roles, I bring sustained interdisciplinary rigor, institutional engagement, and a deep commitment to advancing equity in public health.
